Valor or Platinum?
Valor is LLumar’s top gloss film, with a super hydrophobic top coat and the longest warranty. Platinum comes in gloss and matte, with a stain-resistant top coat. LLumar doesn’t publish thickness, so ask the shop which line it is quoting and compare warranties.
What LLumar’s warranty leaves out
LLumar’s FAQ says its film is designed for original paint and that aftermarket or repaired paint isn’t covered. It also lists pressure-washer and automatic car wash damage as not covered.
Every LLumar page says certain restrictions apply and to see the dealer, so get the written terms. LLumar also says not to wax or coat the paint before film goes on.
Removing LLumar film
LLumar says removal should be done by a professional, indoors, at 55°F or warmer, and not in extreme cold.
What LLumar film costs
Shops post a median of $1,999 for paint protection film, with half of posted prices between $1,199 and $3,800 (127 shops). By coverage, shops post a median of $1,195 for partial front, $2,000 for full front, $6,000 for full body.
