STEK’s film lines

DYNOshield is the clear gloss film. STEK’s page lists it at 8 mil and its data sheet gives 150 microns for the urethane layer, with a “nano glass ceramic” top coat STEK describes as hydrophobic and non-yellowing.

DYNOmatte is satin-matte, meant to match factory matte paint. DYNOmatte-flat is STEK’s true matte. STEK also sells colored and patterned films, including DYNOprism, a metal-flake film in gloss or matte-satin.

The STEK warranty and Final Coat

STEK lists a 10-year warranty on DYNOshield against delamination, yellowing, bubbling and cracking. STEK’s Final Coat ceramic coating is made to bond with its top coat, and STEK says it extends that warranty to 12 years.

STEK says warranties are recorded on installer-provided warranty cards. We didn’t find a published warranty document with exclusions on STEK’s site, so ask the installer for the written terms.

What self-healing does and doesn’t fix

STEK says light scratches heal with hot water or a heat gun, and that scratches through the top coat won’t heal. Rock chips that break the film need the panel redone.

What STEK film costs

Shops post a median of $1,999 for paint protection film, with half of posted prices between $1,199 and $3,800 (127 shops). By coverage, shops post a median of $1,195 for partial front, $2,000 for full front, $6,000 for full body.

Questions about stek ppf

Is STEK as good as XPEL?

Both makers list 10-year warranties on their clear gloss films and similar thickness. We haven’t tested either. The installer’s work and the coverage you buy matter more to the result than the brand.

Does STEK make matte PPF?

Yes: DYNOmatte is satin-matte and DYNOmatte-flat is a true matte.

What does STEK Final Coat do to the warranty?

STEK says Final Coat extends the DYNOshield film warranty from 10 to 12 years.
